About Dundee, how to get there and accommodation offers

Dundee is easy to get to and the perfect place to explore Scotland from. It's slap bang in the middle, making it easy to venture out to nearby places like St Andrews and Perthshire as well as cities including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Dundee’s attractions come in all shapes and sizes, weird and wonderful. Whether you’re a lover of history, maritime heritage or cutting-edge scientific and design feats, there’s something for everyone. Dundee is a city built on the banks of a river which means there’s loads of boats to visit, sail on, and fun water activities to do. Or you can simply enjoy being next to the water. Head to the stunning Dundee waterfront where the city meets the river. Designed to reconnect the city with its historic River Tay waterfront, it’s a must-see part of the city. Dundee is home to many marvellous museums and galleries including the striking V&A Dundee. Perched right on the waterfront, it offers sweeping views of the Tay and across to Fife. And so much more.....

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION

1.      Check if you need a UK Visa and Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)

UK Visa

Information can be found in the following links https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa | https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/tourist-short-stay-visas | http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visitor-visa-guide-to-supporting-documents/guide-to-supporting-documents-visiting-the-uk

ETA

Everyone wishing to travel to the UK – except British and Irish citizens – everyone (including children) will need permission to travel in advance of coming here. This means if you were previously eligible to visit the UK without a visa you will need an ETA.

ETAs are digitally linked to a traveller’s passport and ensure more robust security checks are carried out before people begin their journey to the UK. What an ETA is, who can get one and how to apply before coming to the UK. Information can be found in the following link https://www.gov.uk/eta

2.      Invitation Letter for Visa Application

Delegates requiring a visa to attend the conference may request an ‘Invitation to Attend Letter’ to support their application. To create the letter, we require the following information:

Full name (as it appears on your passport), Email Address, Date of Birth, Passport Number, Passport Country of Issue

If you need an official invitation letter in order to attend the Conference, you may request it by email to events@bsas.org.uk. The invitation letter will be sent to you by email with an attached pdf file. Please note that the invitation letter can only be sent to delegates who have already paid their registration fee.
